The platinum foil technique is very ancient. I have reviewed and modified it; the process of surface tension reduction and the stabilization firing allow great precision. I have contributed to relaunch the use of this technique for minimally invasive restorations, combining it with the “Illumina” technique, thus achieving clinical and technical results which are extraordinarily effective from the esthetic as well as the functional point of view.
Moreno Fiora, Mdt, set up his own dental laboratory in Cremona in 1987. From 1989 to 1991 he held the position of President of ANTLO (National Association of Dental Laboratory Owners), in Cremona, Italy. In 1994 he was a lecturer for ISTAD (Higher Institute of Advanced Dental Technologies), subsequently he was a lecturer for SICED, of which he later assumed the vice-presidency. He is presently the President of the Cultural Commission of SICED (Italian Society of Dental Ceramics). He is the founder of the Facebbok page Nophotoshopdentistry. He now practices in Desenzano del Garda, where he developed the Illumina stratification technique coupled with the use of platinum foil
