Dental Technician Paolo Smaniotto
He qualified as a Dental Technician in 1977 (pupil of Prof. F. Simionato), he got the professional certificate with full marks at the Istituto Superiore Arti Sanitarie “E. Bernardi” in Padua in 1978.
Owner of a laboratory in Bassano del Grappa since 1981. From ’83 to ’92 he specialized by following stages given by the best master dental technicians in Europe. In the two-year period ’94-’96 he attended the School of Porta Mascarella in Bologna: Teacher ANTLO TRAINING (National Association of Dental Laboratory Owners).
Member of AIMAD (Italian Academy of Dental Materials).
Active member of AIOP (Italian Academy of Prosthodontics), in the two-year period 2009-2010 he was an executive of the dental technology section of the Italian Academy of Prosthodontics, in the two-year period 2010-2012 he served on the A.I.O.P. Active Member Admission Committee.
Member of Dental Excellence (International Laboratory Group – Zurich – Switzerland).
The E.D.A. (European Dental Association) bestowed on him the title of Dental Technician Specialized in Fixed and Implant-Supported Prosthodontics in 2007.
He sits on the scientific committee of outstanding international journals.
Holder of 3 international patents on implant and prosthetic devices.
In the two-year period 2007-2008 Invited Speaker at the N.Y.U. (New York University) College of Dentistry C.D.E. Graduates.
Since 2008 Teacher at the post-graduate master of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and since 2013 at the University “Vita Salute San Raffaele” in Milan.
In 2010 he was awarded a Medal of Merit by the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano.
Since 2013 Teacher of Dental Materials and Laboratory Prosthetic Technologies at the Master’s Degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Since 2013 Teacher of Laboratory Prosthetic Technologies at the Master’s Degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics of the University “Vita Salute San Raffaele” in Milan.
Author of 72 scientific publications, co-author of six texts concerning the prosthetic and implant-prosthetic field.
Author of the text Estetica e Tecnica dei nuovi materiali (Aesthetics and Technique of the new materials) (publisher teamwork media srl – Brescia – 2008), also translated into English and German.
He gives courses and lectures at conferences in Italy and abroad.
